That includes our costs to the copper providers...everything! We won't keep a cent and we'll give it all to the bowlo.
There is no way we can measure where these accounts come from or who referred them, so we've decided to donate every single one of our Broadband account's revenue that we have by the end of May for a full month. No matter where in Australia you may be and no matter if the subscriber knows nothing about the bowlo!
Why are we doing it?
Our internet service is new, even though we've been around for almost 8 years, we've only been offering broadband since late last year. We're late comers to the market and we need to get our name out there. Rather than spending huge marketing money to compete with Bigpond, Dodo, etc. we've decided to give that much needed money to the new Lennox Bowls Club.
If we get at least 500 subscribers by the end of May, we'll donate all the revenue from June to the Bowlo. If we get more, there is no limit, we'll donate it all!
It could be well over $50,000 in June.

I've just timed it.
The entire order process took me just 3 minutes 28 seconds.
Think how long your last call took on the phone trying to get a simple question answered with your current provider, or if you tried emailing them, did they even respond?
These 3 and a half minutes could save you a lot of time in future.
"But won't I have to still do anything with my modem?"
After the 3 minute order process:
- We organise your ADSL line transfer (or new ADSL application) on your behalf
- Then in about 5 to 10 days time, we will confirm when it has completed. The only thing you then need to do is to update your modem with the new username and password
- Your internet will continue to work until then
- And we're here to assist you in adding the new login info to your modem :-)
"Do I need a new modem?"
No, not a new one, the one you currently use for your ADSL connection is fine :-)
If it's a brand new connection and you don't have a modem yet, then you will need to get one.
Any ADSL2+ modem will do. Starting from less than $100 you can purchase online or from a retailer. We have some info on our site with some recommendations.
"Do I need a telephone line?"
Yes you do, nothing with your telephone line will change.
You continue using the same service from your telephone provider.
"What about the naked broadband service I've heard about?"
This is one of those hidden catches that we have got rid of. It's a marketing thing by the big players to confuse the consumer.
If you have "no" telephone line, it's true, you can save that monthly cost, however you still need the copper in the ground!
So effectively you do still have a line (but you just can't make calls on it anymore). The naked broadband packages then charge you a premium because you have "no line". So you end up paying the same as a "basic line rental" + ADSL (bundled), or in some cases you pay more, and in some cases you may save 5 bucks...max!
We reckon, keep your basic line and then you can still make calls :-)
"I'm not changing yet, I'm waiting for the NBN"
This wait could be a bit like "how long is a piece of string".
If you do change over to us, we will notify you and swap you over so you don't have to worry about it.
We're keeping our finger on the NBN (The National Broadband Network) pulse too and we will be offering it soon, but obviously only where and as it becomes available.
We will notify you when we have our NBN packages ready and also when it's available in your area, so we can change you over from your ADSL plan with us to an NBN plan with us, when the time comes. And with our no contract and no cancellation fee, it will ensure you're not stuck in a contract when it comes around...it will make for a seamless swap-over handled by us.
"I don't want to sacrifice on speed"
You'll get the same good speeds with us.
The main factor for speed is what is available at your exchange and how long the copper is to your house/office.
We have 3 plans, all based on the fastest connection you can get from your exchange. If you can get ADSL2+ that's what it will be, if you can only get 8Mbps then that will be your maximum speed.
In other words, we will provide the same speed you currently get, or better if it's available.
"Will I have any downtime?"
There won't be downtime as long as you don't cancel your current connection yet.
Simply wait for the email from us saying the Transfer has been completed and then enter in your new Username and Password in your modem and you'll stay connected.
"This will probably cost more than I'm paying at the moment"
We don't think so. We're very competitive – and we don't lock you into long contracts like the others!
The single most important thing is to check you aren't paying for what you're not using.
With our No Contract service, you can change between plans (up or down), so you can get what is right for you from the very beginning.
If you believe your current connection is considerably different, either with speed, service or pricing, please send us some info about it and we can give you a direct comparison. We're confident that if compared without the catches and the tricks, we'll be competitive in pricing, no contracts...and better with support.
"I'll have to call up my current provider anyway to Transfer my number"
Nope, we will handle that.
"I'm in a contract with my current provider"
This is exactly the reason we offer no contracts, to give you flexibility.
You may need to wait it out and signup once your contract with them expires. Or if you're nearing the end of your contract, check what kind of cancellation fee they would charge you.

"I don't want to lose my email address with my current provider"
We provide you with an email address.
Or, perhaps it's time to get your very own so you're never dependant on an internet provider ever again.
We have hosting services where you can get your very own domain and email that you will own and take with you forever.
But as mentioned above, you still get your free email address with your ADSL service.
"So how is the billing going to work?"
There is a small setup fee (remember, no contracts, cancellations or early terminations), only the small setup fee.
Then we bill you your monthly fee on the 27th of each month. Your first month may be a smaller or bigger amount, it is pro-rata until the end of the month or the end of the following month.
Quick summary if you signup now:
- You'll be in line to win a whole year of FREE internet if you're quick. A 100:1 shot at almost $1,500 value - that's pretty good odds.
We're not sure how long it will take to get to 100 subscribers, but once we hit the 100 mark then unfortunately you no longer qualify for the draw.

Why are we doing this and how long will it last?
We've considered various other marketing methods, and rather than spending our marketing budget on various methods - we thought it would be much better spent offering our clients something for free. We would love to offer this for a longer period, however we seriously don't know how long our budget is going to last.

With the NewSprout Spam-Filter we understand it is not feasible to pay for spam filtering on a per-mailbox basis. So we have abandoned the outdated per-user based pricing models and our filters are included on a per domain basis with every one of our hosting packages.

While we are confident there will be no need to change any settings, you always have full control of your email and have access to the spam cluster through a link in your cPanel. All stats, logs, quarantined email, whitelists and blacklists can be viewed here. However, please note the settings are already optimally configured and no changes are required on your part.
When logged into your cPanel, please go to "Mail" > "The NewSprout Spam-Filter" > "Antispam Management Area".

Many NewSprout Hosting customers have brought to our attention letters they have received in the post. The letter is from Domain Renewals Group in the US, but claiming to be based in Melbourne.
The letter will be addressed to you, the registrant, with either your existing domain or a similar domain they will try and trick you into registering. They obtain your details from a Whois search on your domain, which is actually illegal, but difficult to prove. The physical letter, you receive via postal mail, starts with "As a courtesy to domain holders we are sending you this notification of the domain name registration that is due to expire..."
They try and trick you into believing 2 things:
1. That they are your domain provider, and
2. If you don't register/renew your domain right away, you will lose it.
The Domain Renewal Group have actually tried to justify this behaviour, however the fact that they cannot do it for .au domains (because Australian law can then intervene) proves its lack of authenticity. You will only receive this for .com, .net, or other GTLDs.
The HK-NSC email scam
It reads as follows:
We are a domain name registration center in Hong Kong, mainly dealing with domain name registration and internet intellectual property rights protection. On <this date> we received a formal application from a local company of your country who is applying to register some domain names with the keyword "your-dcmain-name" and register it as their internet keyword. After investigation, we find that you are the original user of the keyword. As this refers to your company name or trade mark, and in order to avoid the confusion and dispute on the internet, we inform you and would like to know your ideas, if you agree about this issue, we will finish the third company's registration, If you don't agree the third company to register. please inform me. looking forward to your reply. thanks for your understanding and cooperation.
Both scams are very similar.
Action: We, as well as many legitimate providers, have tried taking action, however there is not much that can be done.
You can just ignore the letter and email.
