I think it's fair to say Twitter is here to stay.

Embrace it.

Or ignore it!

But what have you got to lose?

Worst case...that somebody might unfollow you?

There are a few basic Twitter tips to get you going:

1. Do some quick searches on the dos and don'ts of Twitter. There is plenty of great advice to avoid any silly mistakes when starting out.
2. Don't believe it all though, try your own stuff! Follow some basic guidelines, be creative and you'll be fine.
3. Importantly, tweet things that you would be happy to receive, that also add value and interest.
4. In other words, tweet interesting info about your industry, occasionally tweet great offers you have, re-tweet (RT) anything useful you may find and to keep it interesting add some of your own life and spice.
5. Help others by answering their questions relating to your industry (just like you may perform a search as mentioned in tip 1, others may search for specific terms relating to your industry and benefit from your answers).
6. Don't fall for any of the quick fix follow schemes. Like anything in life, if it seems too good to be true...it probably is.
7. Don't be scared...Do it!
