PHPST is a powerful, yet simple all-in-one email helpdesk/ticketing software that is very easy to use and install. It is written in PHP and makes use of a MySQL database, both of which are required on your web server in order to install this application. Its design is focused on expandability and ease of maintenance. Most of the visual aspects of the application are controlled by CSS Stylesheets, while the internal workings are efficiently and coherently organized in logical classes and methods.

Installation is extremely straight forward, although a minimum understanding of web server technologies is vital.
The script is set up to use MySQL database by default, but can easily be changed to support all major types of databases. Manageable departments allow you to edit, delete and add new departments at will.
The administration section is secured through a user-name and password. Newly posted tickets will be emailed to the administrator’s email address.

They can then reply to the tickets through the response section and an email will automatically be sent to the user who posted the ticket, with a full history of the message thread.
Users have the ability to send in tickets to set departments, with set urgency levels. They can add single attachments to any post and they can open, close or answer their own tickets.
