XOOPS

XOOPS is a free CMS for websites that is written in PHP. It uses modular framework, allowing users to customize, update and theme their websites. XOOPS is an acronym for eXtensible Object Oriented Portal System. Although it started as a portal system, XOOPS is developing as a CMS.
It aims to serve as a web framework for use by small, medium and large sites, through the installation of modules. For example, a small XOOPS installation can be used as a personal weblog or journal which could then be expanded upon and customized. The user might add the appropriate modules to store content in news, forums, downloads, and more. Modules can be installed, uninstalled, activated, and deactivated using the module administration system.
XOOPS uses themes for page presentation. Both administrators and users can change the look of the entire website by selecting the available themes.
